Bookkeeper - Family owned business

Part time, with hours and days flexible by agreement. Based at our Thirlmere office, with some work-from-home flexibility.

Mills Haulage is a family-owned transport company based in Southwest Sydney, specialising in the transport of dangerous goods including LPG and Cryogenics gases. With over 20 years in the industry, we provide safe and reliable transport across NSW and interstate.

About the role

As the business grows, we're looking for an experienced bookkeeper to take ownership of our day-to-day accounts. You'll keep our books accurate and up to date, work closely with senior management and our external accountant, and be a trusted part of a small, friendly team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including weekly customer invoicing

• Complete bank, credit card and fuel card reconciliations

• Keep our MYOB file accurate and up to date

• Prepare BAS and IAS in conjunction with our external accountant

• Assist with month-end reporting for senior management

• Provide backup support for payroll processing

• Maintain organised and accurate financial records

About you

• Previous bookkeeping experience, ideally within a small to medium business.

• Solid hands-on experience with MYOB (essential).

• Strong reconciliation and data entry skills, with high attention to detail.

• A good understanding of GST, BAS and superannuation obligations.

• Trustworthy and discreet when handling confidential information.

• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload.

• Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting will be highly regarded.
