Epidemiologist - Advanced (Hervey Bay)

The Wide Bay Public Health Unit is seeking an Epidemiologist – Advanced to lead surveillance, data analysis, and epidemiological investigations supporting public health action across the region. Based at Hervey Bay Hospital, this is a pivotal role within a dynamic multidisciplinary team committed to improving population health outcomes. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 225,000 residents including several rural communities.

Your opportunity: 

• Provision of specialist epidemiological services independently by advanced designing, conducting, analysing and reporting of population health studies, data and investigations, (including investigations of disease outbreaks, assessment of non-communicable disease clusters and evaluation of health programs and interventions) as well as providing specialist epidemiological advice and technical support to public health service, research and projects.

Our offer:

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $86,307 p.a., comprising salary rates $73.13 - $76.30 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP5) (Permanent Part Time, 38 hours p.f.).
