Security Technician

The Alarms Corporation are seeking a confident and knowledgeable Security Technician to join our staff on a full-time basis, overseeing the installation and servicing of a wide range of systems throughout Melbourne and Victoria. This is a long term career opportunity with ongoing training and professional development leading to a management position.

We’d love to hear from you if you have: 

• Security industry experience

• A friendly attitude and strong communication skills

• Current security, cabling and full driver licenses

• Experience with a range of commercial security systems

• Good CCTV installation and servicing experience

What you’ll be doing:

• Running and fitting off cabling for security systems

• Installing CCTV, alarms, intercoms, access control systems and networking equipment

• Building and neatly dressing equipment racks in our workshop

• Set up alarm monitoring services 

• Testing, commissioning and troubleshooting systems

• Understand, read and interpret building plans

• Completing service and aftercare visits for existing clients

What we’re looking for:

• Practical experience in security systems integration

• Experience with Inner Range, Tecom, Bosch, DAS (Hills) and Honeywell (Vista) is desirable

• Experience with Hanwha, Dahua and HIK CCTV systems is desirable

• Pride in producing clean, tidy cabling and high-quality workmanship

• A good understanding of IP networks, including addressing, switches, and basic troubleshooting

• Confidence working with builders, other trades and clients

• A reliable, friendly attitude and the ability to see each job through

• A current driver license and Safety Induction Card
