About The Role
As a Registered Nurse in our perioperative team, you will play an important role in delivering safe, compassionate and patient-centred care. You will:
Provide high-quality nursing care within the perioperative environment.Work as part of the scrub and circulating team across a diverse range of surgical specialties.Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.Contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive team culture.Build your clinical skills and knowledge through ongoing education, mentoring and hands-on experience.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
Post-graduate clinical experience in operating theatre or procedural unit nursing within an acute hospital setting.Strong clinical knowledge and demonstrated perioperative nursing skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.A commitment to providing patient-centred care and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
Support and Professional Development
We are committed to supporting your professional growth through dedicated Perioperative Education, experienced mentors, Clinical Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Specialists. You will receive a skills assessment and appropriate supernumerary orientation to support a smooth transition into the service.
A Dynamic Perioperative Environment
Our perioperative service offers a varied roster, including 6, 8 and 10-hour shifts, afternoon shifts and 10-hour night shifts. With a busy trauma service and diverse surgical specialties, you’ll have opportunities to broaden your experience, develop your skills and grow your nursing career within a supportive team.
As an NSW Health Registered Nurse, you may also be eligible for study leave to support tertiary studies, education days and conferences, helping you continue to develop your skills and advance your career.
