Project Cost Controller

Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages distribution networks, transmission pipelines and storage capacity. AGIG recently grew to over 1300 employees. We also manage a large contractor workforce, who provide both specialist and operating and maintenance services on AGIG's gas distribution networks.

About the opportunity

AGIG is seeking a Project Cost Controller to join the Infrastructure Asset Management team, reporting to the Head of Project Services. You will provide cost control and accounting support to the Dampier Bunbury Pipeline (DBP) Project Management Office. Playing a key role in project setup, cost reporting, forecasting, month-end activities and capitalisation processes to support the successful delivery of capital projects.

• Set up and maintain project structures, coding and budgets within project systems.
• Monitor project costs, commitments and forecasts to ensure accurate reporting.
• Prepare project cost reports, cash flow forecasts and variance analysis.
• Coordinate monthly project cost reviews with key stakeholders.
• Support month-end activities, including accruals, journals and project capitalisation.
• Liaise with Finance, Procurement and Project teams to resolve cost and coding issues.
• Ensure project financial data is accurate, compliant and up to date.

• Previous experience in project cost control or a similar role.
• Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CPA/CA desirable.
• Experience with project management and financial systems, with Maximo and SAP/HANA highly regarded.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to drive effective cost control, reporting and continuous improvement.
• Exposure to the oil & gas, pipeline or asset-intensive industries will be advantageous.
