Reptile Encounters is one of Australia's leading wildlife education organisations.

Every year we visit thousands of schools, kinders, community events, birthday parties and workplaces, connecting people with an incredible diversity of Australian wildlife—from reptiles, birds, mammals and amphibians through to marine life and fascinating invertebrates.

Every presentation is designed to spark curiosity, build empathy and create unforgettable moments that inspire people to care for wildlife and the world around them.

As a Wildlife Ambassador, you'll become one of the faces of Reptile Encounters.

You'll travel across Melbourne (and occasionally beyond), delivering engaging wildlife education programs to audiences of every age.

No two days are ever the same.

You could be presenting at:

• Schools and kinders

• Birthday parties

• Community festivals

• Shopping centres

• Corporate events

• Vacation Care and OSHC programs

• Public events and expos

Your role isn't simply to introduce amazing animals.

It's to tell their stories.

You'll help audiences understand how these incredible creatures fit into healthy ecosystems, challenge myths, replace fear with curiosity, and inspire genuine respect for wildlife.

Every presentation has the potential to change the way someone sees the natural world.

🦎 Deliver engaging wildlife education presentations to audiences of all ages.

🐍 Share incredible stories about our animals while encouraging curiosity, empathy and respect.

🎤 Confidently present to groups ranging from small classrooms to large public events.

🚐 Travel throughout Melbourne using company vehicles to deliver programs.

🤝 Work closely with a fun, supportive and passionate team.

📚 Continue learning about wildlife, education and presentation skills through ongoing training.

🌏 Help create a generation of better humans by inspiring people to care for our environment.

We're looking for people who are passionate about wildlife and love connecting with others.

You'll bring:

• A Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Wildlife Science, Environmental Science, Animal Science, Education or another closely related field (essential).

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Confidence speaking to groups or a genuine enthusiasm to develop this skill.

• A positive, energetic and engaging personality.

• A genuine passion for Australian wildlife and conservation.

• Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to support those around you.

• Reliability, punctuality and great organisational skills.

• The ability to work weekends and occasional evenings.

• A current Victorian Driver Licence.

• A current Working With Children Check (or the ability to obtain one before commencing).

• Experience working with Australian wildlife.

• Experience presenting, teaching, performing or working in customer-facing roles.

• Personal experience caring for reptiles or other animals.

• First Aid qualifications.
