About the role

• Xavier 8 North is a surgical ward, supporting patients across specialties including orthopaedics, plastic surgery, urology, and gynaecology.
• Deliver specialised post-operative care for patients following elective and emergency procedures, including those transferred from ICU after complex surgery or trauma.
• Evidence-based nursing care to people of all ages and diverse cultural backgrounds, including individuals, families, and communities.
• Develop and apply essential surgical nursing skills to ensure patient safety and continuity of care from admission through to discharge.
• Work collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team while also demonstrating autonomy and clinical independence in practice.

About you

• Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.
• Demonstrated experience working in an acute hospital setting, prior surgical experience is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in your daily practice.
• Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
