About the role

HEQ Services is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Hand to join our team on a full-time basis in Cotton Tree, QLD 4558. This is an essential position within our kitchen operations, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth running of our food preparation and service areas. Your contribution will directly impact the quality of our hospitality service and the satisfaction of our guests and clients.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and cleaning food preparation areas, including benches, chopping boards and utensils

• Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under the direction of kitchen staff

• Washing and sanitising dishes, cookware and kitchen equipment in accordance with health and safety standards

• Organising and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients in designated areas

• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen and associated areas

• Assisting with receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies

• Supporting kitchen staff during service periods and peak times

• Operating kitchen equipment safely and responsibly

• Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and workplace health and safety requirements

• Assisting with general kitchen maintenance and minor repairs as directed

What we're looking for

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene

• Physical stamina and capability to perform manual tasks for extended periods

• Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic

• Basic food handling knowledge or willingness to obtain Food Safety certification

• Capacity to follow instructions and workplace procedures

• Good communication skills and a positive attitude

• Experience in hospitality or food service environments is advantageous but not essential

• Current Food Safety certification or ability to obtain it is preferred
