About the role

As a Maintenance Superintendent you will be responsible for ensuring the dry-hire fleet remains safe, reliable, well maintained and available for production.

You’ll balance technical maintenance requirements with operational demands, customer commitments, contractual obligations and financial performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading health, safety and environmental performance across maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with company, site and legislative requirements.

• Coordinating incident, accident and near-miss investigations and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

• Managing proactive and prioritised maintenance activities to maximise fleet availability, reliability, presentation and condition.

• Coordinating contractual site maintenance activities, including labour, resources, equipment and support services.

• Working with clients to conduct regular mobile equipment inspections and identify defects, maintenance requirements and improvement opportunities.

• Building strong client and stakeholder relationships and facilitating regular meetings to review performance, priorities, issues and opportunities.

• Working closely with the finance team to ensure costs are accurately forecast and accounted for.

• Travelling to site as required to maintain strong customer and operational relationships.

What you'll bring

You’ll be a flexible and adaptable maintenance professional with a strong mining background and proven leadership skills, able to move confidently between the workshop, client discussions, operational planning and management reporting.

Ideally, you will have:

• A nationally recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic trade qualification.

• Minimum 5 years’ maintenance experience in a supervisory capacity.

• Experience managing maintenance budgets, R&M expenditure and third-party vendors.

• Proven experience working across Caterpillar, Hitachi and Komatsu fleets.

• Fluent working knowledge of Caterpillar SIS for parts identification and troubleshooting.

• The ability to identify safety lead indicators and implement appropriate actions.

• Competent with Microsoft 365 and maintenance management systems such as AMT.

• The flexibility and resilience to respond effectively to changing client and fleet requirements.
