About The Role
The position is responsible for the development of community partnerships and service coordination to support the delivery of community-based youth programs, activities and events that meet the needs of young people in Merri-bek.
The position involves community outreach and the development of partnership initiatives that respond directly to the local needs of young people, with a particular focus on the Northern suburbs of Merri-bek.
Skills And Experience Require To Perform The Role
Tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Social Science, or related field and/or substantial demonstrated experience in youth work and/or community development.Experience in program design, development, implementation, and evaluation and working with young people using youth participation/community development principles.Experience in project management and or event management.Demonstrated understanding of issues facing young people and appropriate service responses that are evidenced based and best practice.Experience in providing personal support to young people.Ability to cooperate, work effectively and partner with a variety of stakeholders, including staff, partnership agencies, community groups and government.The ability to work as a positive team member and to foster and encourage constructive interaction between staff, the community and young people.Current Victorian Driver’s License, Working with Children Check Card and Workplace First Aid Certificate.
