The Role

As our Parts Interpreter, you take ownership of parts sourcing, inventory, and supply for both our internal workshop and external customers, while also assisting with key front-of-house operations. From the moment an enquiry comes through, you identify the right parts the first time, coordinate service bookings, and ensure seamless administrative support to keep our workshop and fleet clients moving with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• The Component Specialist: Interpret customer and technician requirements using electronic parts catalogues, VIN decoders, and technical manuals to identify the exact parts needed.

• The Sourcing & Supply Hub: Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to procure genuine, OEM, and aftermarket parts, managing pricing, availability, and freight times.

• The Workshop Ally: Work closely with technicians to pre-pick parts for scheduled jobs, supply ad-hoc repair requirements, and maintain workflow through the bays.

• The Inventory Controller: Receive, verify, bin, and dispatch stock; manage inventory levels, process core returns, and conduct cycle counts with precision.

• The Customer & Booking Point: Assist at the front counter and on the phones by fielding customer enquiries, taking vehicle service and repair bookings, and scheduling workshop appointments.

• The Billing Contributor: Accurately raise, process, and finalise customer invoices for both parts supply and workshop services, ensuring clear billing and timely approvals.

What You Bring to the Team

• Parts & Industry Expertise: Solid experience interpreting heavy vehicle, truck, trailer, or automotive components using digital catalogues and parts systems.

• Sharp Organisation: Strong attention to detail to ensure correct part numbers, accurate booking schedules, and precise invoicing without letting paperwork slip.

• Systems Fluency: Comfort with inventory and dealership/workshop management software (Bonus points if you’ve mastered systems like Mechanic Desk or similar ERPs).

• The "Cool Head" Factor: The ability to stay calm, methodical, and solution-focused during rush periods when vehicles and equipment are off the road.
