Procurement Officer - Sydney North West

About the Role
  
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Procurement Officer to join a well established organisation during a period of significant transformation. Working alongside Procurement Business Partners, you will support both day to day procurement activities and strategic sourcing initiatives across a diverse range of procurement categories.
  
This role has been created to provide additional support during several key organisational initiatives, including the implementation of a new Procurement Policy and a new procurement system. You'll play an important role in ensuring procurement activities continue to be delivered efficiently while maintaining strong governance and compliance.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Conducting and reviewing sourcing activities in accordance with established policies and procedures to meet business needs.
• Supporting the development of contract management activities, resolution of issues, and negotiating variations to Purchase Orders, contracts and/or agreements to enhance business outcomes.
• Maintaining and updating procurement records and generating reports on procurement and contract activity.
• Providing stakeholder support, including Procurement System training, responding to enquiries, guiding procurement activities within policy thresholds and embedding best practice procurement.
• Identifying, mitigating, and escalating procurement risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunities.
• Applying procurement governance and risk management frameworks to manage compliance, risk and obligations across all procurement activities.

About You
  
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and professional achievement.
• Experience managing end to end procurement activities, from business planning and needs analysis through to tendering and contract award.
• Sound knowledge of procurement and contract management principles, governance frameworks, and relevant legislative requirements.
• The ability to manage procurement activities with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organisation.
• A proactive, organised, and customer focused approach with a strong commitment to professionalism and continuous improvement.
• Experience across a broad range of procurement categories and/or within the public sector will be highly regarded, although not essential.

• Initial 3 month contract with the possibility of extension.
• Competitive $500 per day (inclusive of super).
