Heavy Diesel Fitter

About the role

Your work will include minor servicing and repairs through to complete machine rebuilds. You will work on Caterpillar equipment including CAT 740 & 745 Articulated Dump Trucks, CAT 773 & 775 Rigid Dump Trucks, and CAT 777 & 785 Mining Trucks. You will perform mechanical diagnosis and fault finding, hydraulic diagnosis, repairs, testing and adjustments, and rebuilds of major machine components. You will also be involved in assembly and fit-out of brand-new Gecko service modules and water carts, installation of hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, tanks and associated components, and hydraulic testing, commissioning and final adjustments. You will maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment, working independently when required while also contributing as part of a highly skilled team.

Key responsibilities

• Minor servicing and repairs through to complete machine rebuilds

• Mechanical diagnosis and fault finding

• Hydraulic diagnosis, repairs, testing and adjustments

• Rebuilds of major machine components

• Assembly and fit-out of brand-new Gecko service modules and water carts

• Installation of hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, tanks and associated components

• Hydraulic testing, commissioning and final adjustments

• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment

• Working independently when required while also contributing as part of a highly skilled team

About you

• Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitter

• Solid experience working on Caterpillar/Komatsu earthmoving and mining equipment

• Strong hydraulic knowledge and diagnostic skills

• Takes pride in producing high-quality workmanship

• Excellent attention to detail

• Can work independently and manage their own workload

• Works well within a team environment

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
