At Taronga Zoo in Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, we lead conservation efforts in the field and participate in regional and global conservation breeding programs to establish insurance populations for species threatened in the wild. We also operate two wildlife hospitals that treat and rehabilitate injured native wildlife, as well as providing best practice health care for the animals at our Zoos.

In Australia and internationally, we work with universities, governments and conservation partners to respond to challenges impacting wildlife and people. We also have a proud tradition of delivering conservation education programs that increase knowledge and awareness and inspire students to become global leaders in conservation. Job description:

• Located at the iconic Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo

• Ongoing, full-time Housekeeper position
  TCSA Wages Employees Award, Cleaner Level 1, annual package $61,830 (includes base salary $54,552 + plus superannuation & leave loading)

• Casual positions available
  TCSA Wages Employees Award, Cleaner Level 1, hourly rate $34.27 (includes base hourly rate $27.51 + weekend penalties)

Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo is looking for experienced and motivated Housekeepers to join our Accommodation team!

As part of our friendly Housekeeping Team, you'll help keep Taronga Western Plains Zoo's award winning accommodation and public areas looking their best — all while being surrounded by incredible wildlife every day.

About the Role…

As a Cleaner/Housekeeper, you'll play a key role in ensuring our accommodation and public spaces are presented to the highest standard. You'll work closely with a high performing team and contribute to the exceptional guest experience Taronga is known for.

Key Accountabilities…

• Maintain clean, safe and well-presented accommodation facilities, public areas, administrative buildings and associated precincts that enhance the visitor and guest experience and reflect Taronga's high standards.

• Ensure the presentation and amenity of accommodation and operational facilities support Taronga's reputation as a world-class tourism, education and conservation destination.

• Contribute to industry-leading customer experiences by delivering responsive, professional and high-quality service aligned with Taronga's Customer Service Charter.

• Support the communication of Taronga's conservation, education and sustainability messages through positive interactions with guests, visitors, staff and volunteers that reflect Taronga's values.

• Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team environment that supports the achievement of Taronga's strategic objectives and operational priorities.

• Promote environmentally sustainable practices that support Taronga's sustainability targets and reduce the environmental impact of operations.
• Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga's Work, Health and Safety Charter.

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have:

• Current NSW Drivers License or ability to have existing license formally recognised,
• Vaccinations against Zoonotic diseases (in accordance with Taronga's Zoonotic disease vaccination matrix) at your own expense - Hep A.
• Obtain and maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check at your own expense.
• Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
