4WD ACCESSORY FITTER

About the role

We are seeking an experienced 4WD Accessory Fitter to join the team at Mount Barker 4x4 Centre in Mount Barker, South Australia. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality accessory installation services to our valued customers. As a 4WD Accessory Fitter, you will be responsible for the professional installation, maintenance, and modification of a wide range of four-wheel-drive accessories and components. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that every vehicle that leaves our workshop meets our exacting standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Install and fit a comprehensive range of 4WD accessories, including bullbars, snorkels, suspension systems, winches, roof racks, storage solutions and towing equipment

• Perform accurate measurements, alignments and fitment checks to ensure all accessories are installed correctly and safely

• Conduct quality inspections of completed work to verify standards meet company and industry requirements

• Maintain accurate records of all work completed, parts used and hours spent on each job

• Communicate effectively with management regarding installation progress, timelines and any issues that may arise

• Maintain workshop tools, equipment and work areas in a clean, organised and safe condition

• Troubleshoot and resolve any fitting issues or complications that arise during installation work

• Stay up-to-date with new accessory products, installation techniques and industry best practices

• Assist with vehicle inspections and provide recommendations for suitable accessories based on customer needs

• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient workshop operations

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a 4WD accessory fitter or similar automotive installation role, ideally within the 4WD or off-road industry

• Strong practical mechanical knowledge and competency in using a range of hand and power tools

• Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics and installation instructions

• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

• Sound understanding of vehicle safety standards and compliance requirements relevant to accessory installation

• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload whilst meeting deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to different vehicle models and accessory types

• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach

• Physical capability to perform hands-on work, including lifting, bending and working in various positions

• Valid driver's licence

• Relevant qualifications in automotive trades or equivalent practical experience

• Familiarity with 4WD vehicles and common accessory requirements is highly desirable
