Customer Service Officer - Banyule Leisure

Join our team as a Customer Service Officer at Banyule Leisure.

Are you a friendly, organised and customer-focused person who enjoys helping people feel welcome, informed and supported? Banyule Leisure is looking for a Customer Service Officer to join our team and help create positive experiences for our members, visitors and community.

In this role, you’ll be one of the first points of contact for customers across Banyule Leisure. You’ll provide helpful information about programs, memberships, facilities and services, support day-to-day reception and café operations, and assist with bookings, payments, administration and general customer enquiries

• Welcoming customers and providing friendly, accurate and professional service.
• Responding to enquiries and helping customers find the right programs, memberships, products and services.
• Processing bookings, payments, point-of-sale transactions and basic administration.
• Supporting reception, merchandise and café operations, including stock control and coffee making.
• Keeping customer areas clean, tidy, well-presented and safe.
• Assisting with programs, promotional activities and the general running of Banyule Leisure facilities.

Shifts available:

• Wednesday 3:30pm - 7:30pm
• Wednesday 6:00pm - 9:15pm
• Thursday 6:00pm – 9:15pm
• Friday 3:30pm - 7:30pm
• Sunday 12:00 noon - 4:15pm (alternating shift, 2nd Sunday of the fortnight)
• Sunday 7:15pm - 9:45pm (Women's only shift - required to enable Council to deliver culturally safe programs. Only female applicants are eligible for this shift).

What you’ll bring/what we are looking for:

You will bring a positive, practical and community-minded approach, with the confidence to work in a busy customer service environment. You’ll enjoy helping people, solving day-to-day issues and working as part of a team to deliver a welcoming and reliable service. You’ll have

• A commitment to Banyule Leisure’s values and a keen interest in promoting health and fitness of our customers and the wider community.
• Strong customer service focus and ability to multitask in a busy and dynamic environment, without compromising service to customers.
• Excellent phone manner, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to discuss customer needs and identify the best service for them within Banyule Leisure, including well-developed conflict resolution skills.
• Experience in customer service, membership sales, cash handling and administration (desirable)
• Experience in the leisure facility industry (desirable)

What’s on offer

• A permanent part time role with shifts available Wednesday to Sunday.
• $36.79 to $38.54 per hour plus super (depending on experience).
• Primary work location Ivanhoe Aquatic, and Olympic Leisure Centre.
• Consistency in shifts, working on a part time basis with the potential to pick up extra shifts.
• Supportive and engaging team.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Level 2 First Aid (Apply First Aid).
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Pre employment checks:

• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
• Pre-Employment Medical Check
• Working with children check
