Junior Accountant

Role Description This role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sydney, NSW. The successful candidate will assist with day to day accounting tasks, including processing invoices maintaining ledgers, preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts. The role involves supporting the preparation of financial statements, assisting with tax return and compliance documentation, and helping with basic audit work under supervision. The Junior accountant will collaborate with senior team members to gather client information, respond to client queries and ensure accurate and timely reporting. This position offers exposure to a variety of small and medium sized business clients and opportunities to develop strong foundation in accounting, taxation and audit.

Qualifications

• Relevant working experience in a similar position of minimum 2 years in Australia.

• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and practices including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations and financial statement preparation.

• Strong analytical, numerical and problem solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work in a team and interact professionally with clients.

• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a busy advisory and compliance environment.

• Relevant tertiary qualification

• Interest in taxation and audit with willingness to develop skills in these areas and undertake further professional training certification.

• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
