About the role
About us (AWN):
AWN Rural is a 100% Australian-owned private business founded in 1999. We are committed to delivering agricultural services across wool, livestock, and property.
Our vision of bringing wool producers, processors, and consumers together has allowed us to build relationships across the supply chain and deliver unique marketing opportunities for our wool clients.
With people at the heart of everything we do, we invest in our staff so they can deliver the exceptional level of service that has become synonymous with AWN.
About the role:
As our wool business continues to evolve, AWN Rural is seeking a candidate to join our wool team across the Central and Southern Tablelands.
The role suits a sales-focused professional who can build trusted client relationships. Wool industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
In this client-facing role, you will provide sales and marketing advice to woolgrowers, helping them achieve strong financial returns from their wool enterprises.
AWN will support the right candidate to develop the technical knowledge required for the role.
The role provides practical, hands-on experience across client service, clip appraisal, auction preparation, market analysis, risk management and wool administration.
Key responsibilities:
The role involves regular travel throughout the Central and Southern Tablelands and reports to the relevant regional wool manager.
Conduct regular on-farm visits to build and maintain trusted relationships with woolgrowers.
Assess, value and catalogue wool for commercial sale.
Coordinate sale catalogue preparation and submission to the wool trade.
Analyse market trends and sales data using information published by AWEX.
Develop an understanding of the risk management tools available to woolgrowers and support the delivery of advice appropriate to each client’s circumstances.
Complete pre-sale documentation, contracts and auction catalogue processing accurately and on time.
About you:
A genuine interest in Australian agriculture, particularly the wool and livestock industries. Previous wool industry experience and a current AWEX Wool Classer’s stencil are advantageous but not essential.
Strong written, verbal and digital communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with woolgrowers, colleagues and industry partners.
Basic computer literacy, a current driver’s licence, a willingness, to learn and strong attention to detail.
What we offer:
AWN provides the tools and support needed to work effectively across the region.
A competitive salary package aligned with the successful candidate’s experience and skills.
A clear pathway to build technical expertise, develop a client portfolio and progress within AWN’s wool broking business.
Support from an experienced team, with structured on-the-job learning and ongoing professional development.
Applications close at 5.00 pm on Friday 4th September 2026. AWN may begin reviewing applications before the closing date.
