About the Role
The Social Media Coach is building a network of exceptional freelance shooters and editors across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. We’re not looking for traditional production crews or highly polished corporate videographers. We’re looking for independent creatives who understand social media, storytelling and culture, people who know how to turn an idea, person, product or moment into content people actually want to watch. You should be just as comfortable shooting on an iPhone as you are thinking about the opening hook, finding an unexpected angle or changing the shot because you know the original idea isn't going to hold attention.

What You'll Do
You'll work with our team to bring social-first creative concepts to life for a range of brands and founders.
Depending on the project, you'll:
Shoot social-first content on iPhone in 4KEdit short-form content for Instagram, TikTok and other social platformsTurn creative briefs into engaging visual storiesFind interesting shots, moments and angles beyond what's written in the briefCapture strong hooks and opening framesDirect talent confidently and make people feel comfortable on cameraUnderstand pacing, retention and what keeps someone watchingCapture enough variation and supporting footage to give the edit optionsWork collaboratively with our strategy and creative teamDeliver organised footage and edits within agreed timelines
What We're Looking For
We're looking for creatives with a strong instinct for storytelling, not just technically good camera operators. You'll ideally:
Have experience creating social-first video contentUnderstand TikTok, Reels and the way people consume content on socialHave a strong creative eye and point of viewKnow how to tell a story in 15–60 secondsUnderstand hooks, pacing, transitions and retentionBe confident shooting high-quality 4K footage on iPhoneHave strong short-form editing skillsBe able to take a brief and add your own creative thinkingBe reliable, organised and easy to work withBe based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane
You don't need a huge production setup. We care much more about your ideas, taste and ability to tell a story.
Independent Creatives Only
This is important. We do not partner with agencies or production companies.We deliberately work directly with independent shooters, editors and content creators.We want to know the person behind the camera, build an ongoing relationship with them and have them become an extension of our creative team.
