Build Your Future in Boilermaking with Ausgroup Industrial Services
Ausgroup Industrial Services is seeking motivated and enthusiastic 1st and 2nd Year Apprentice Boilermakers to join our team in Bowen, Queensland. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a long-term career in the fabrication and engineering industry while gaining practical, hands-on experience alongside experienced tradespeople.
As an Apprentice Boilermaker, you will be involved in a variety of fabrication, welding, maintenance, and repair activities while completing your formal apprenticeship through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). You'll learn valuable trade skills in a supportive environment that prioritises safety, quality workmanship, and professional development.
Assist qualified Boilermakers with fabrication and assembly of structural steel, tanks, pressure vessels, and industrial equipment.
Learn and apply welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and MMA welding.
Prepare materials through measuring, marking, cutting, grinding, and fitting.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely.
Assist with repairs, maintenance, and installation of fabricated components.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and policies.
Attend trade school and complete all apprenticeship training requirements.
Work collaboratively within a team and follow directions from supervisors and qualified tradespeople.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current 1st or 2nd Year Apprentice status, or a genuine desire to commence an apprenticeship.
Completion of Year 10 or higher.
Strong interest in welding, fabrication, and mechanical trades.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Ability to work safely in a workshop and industrial environment.
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks.
Driver's licence preferred but not essential.
White Card.
Previous welding, fabrication, workshop, or labouring experience.
Experience using hand and power tools.
Forklift, EWP, or Working at Heights tickets.
Full-time apprenticeship opportunity.
