Ausgroup Industrial Services is seeking motivated and enthusiastic 1st and 2nd Year Apprentice Boilermakers to join our team in Bowen, Queensland. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a long-term career in the fabrication and engineering industry while gaining practical, hands-on experience alongside experienced tradespeople.

As an Apprentice Boilermaker, you will be involved in a variety of fabrication, welding, maintenance, and repair activities while completing your formal apprenticeship through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). You'll learn valuable trade skills in a supportive environment that prioritises safety, quality workmanship, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist qualified Boilermakers with fabrication and assembly of structural steel, tanks, pressure vessels, and industrial equipment.

• Learn and apply welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and MMA welding.

• Prepare materials through measuring, marking, cutting, grinding, and fitting.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans.

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely.

• Assist with repairs, maintenance, and installation of fabricated components.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.

• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and policies.

• Attend trade school and complete all apprenticeship training requirements.

• Work collaboratively within a team and follow directions from supervisors and qualified tradespeople.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Current 1st or 2nd Year Apprentice status, or a genuine desire to commence an apprenticeship.

• Completion of Year 10 or higher.

• Strong interest in welding, fabrication, and mechanical trades.

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

• Ability to work safely in a workshop and industrial environment.

• Physical fitness to perform manual tasks.

• Driver's licence preferred but not essential.

Desirable

• White Card.

• Previous welding, fabrication, workshop, or labouring experience.

• Experience using hand and power tools.

• Forklift, EWP, or Working at Heights tickets.
