Procurement Officer - Senior - Cairns

You will be responsible for managing medium to high-value and complex procurement activities from planning and sourcing through to contract implementation. Deliver value for money outcomes through the application of best practice procurement, governance, and contract management processes. Conduct market analysis, lead sourcing activities, support contract negotiations, and oversee the implementation of contracts to ensure compliance, efficiency, and successful supplier outcomes.

The Procurement and Contracts team at Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) operates as a dedicated internal division responsible for managing commercial arrangements, sourcing goods and services, and ensuring compliance with buying standards. Through effective procurement and contract management, the team supports the delivery of high-quality healthcare services while achieving value for money, maintaining governance requirements, and mitigating organisational risk.

About your role:

In this position you will…..

• Manage the implementation of contracts including the development of handover packs for key stakeholders to enable effective utilisation and performance management of contracts that have resulted from procurement activities.
• Prepare correspondence, reports and memoranda relating to Procurement and Contracts Unit matters as directed.
• Manage a variety of concurrent procurement projects (and other business-related projects) by exercising a high degree of judgement, in order to meet operational and/or business deadlines.
