With the highly anticipated reopening of the Ian Potter State Theatre, Arts Centre Melbourne’s hospitality operation is entering an exciting new phase of growth.
As we prepare to welcome increased audiences, new events and greater trading volumes across our venues, we have also seen a number of talented team members progress into new roles through our recent internal promotions. As a result, we are now looking to expand our leadership team and are seeking Hospitality Supervisors to join us.
This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced hospitality professionals who are ready to take the next step in their career and play a key role in delivering exceptional food, beverage and customer experiences across one of Australia’s leading arts and cultural precincts.
Working across our diverse hospitality portfolio, our supervisors are hands-on leaders who help drive service excellence, support and develop our teams, and ensure every performance, event and trading period runs seamlessly.
About the Position
Your role will be primarily based in Protagonist: A bustling café and bar located at the front of the State Theatre, serving up custom coffee blends, pastries and a proud locally sourced beverage list.
As a Hospitality Supervisor in Protagonist, you will assist in leading the team and are responsible for actively contributing to the efficient operation and revenue generation of various Food & Beverage outlets by providing a high standard of customer service, cleanliness, food & beverage service, preparation and effective reporting.
Based on the Theatres building forecourt, you must be comfortable in an outdoor environment .
Full-Time fixed term August 2027 Band 2.2 $67,440.88 plus superannuation

About the Team
The Hospitality team sits within the Customer Service Pillar and is responsible for the service and delivery of all food and beverage related activity in Arts Centre Melbourne including the Theatres building, Hamer Hall and Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
The Hospitality Unit is focused on delivering exceptional customer service and innovative cuisine across all venues and function spaces in keeping with Arts Centre Melbourne standards.

At Arts Centre Melbourne (ACM), we employ the Humanforce system. HumanForce uses Facial Recognition technology to record clock on and off times. This technology operates in strict privacy mode, meaning that images are not stored. The use of this technology is necessary for ACM to perform its roster, time and attendance (RTA) functions accurately and efficiently. Therefore, all new staff in the Production, Visitor Experience, Ticketing and Hospitality Teams will be required to use it unless otherwise agreed.
