Job Description:

BP Australia Pty Limited is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure. This role involves close collaboration with various teams to ensure data integrity, availability, and optimal performance, contributing significantly to our digital transformation initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data solutions, including database design and relational data modelling.

• Develop and maintain data pipelines using scripting languages, ensuring data quality and reliability.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.

• Implement continuous deployment and release strategies for data platforms and applications.

• Manage source control and code management for all data-related projects.

• Contribute to solution architecture discussions, providing expertise in system design and data integration.

• Ensure adherence to information security best practices within data engineering processes.

• Facilitate technical discussions and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Support service operations and resilience of data infrastructure.

• Actively participate in creating and fostering a high-performing team environment.

• Contribute to configuration management and related processes for data systems.

• Engage in digital project management activities as they relate to data initiatives.

Job Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a strong understanding of database design and relational data modelling.

• Proficiency in scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.

• Demonstrated experience with source control and code management tools.

• Strong understanding of continuous deployment and release principles.

• Experience with configuration management and related tools.

• Solid grasp of system design and solution architecture principles.

• Knowledge of information security standards in a data context.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate technical discussions.

• Experience in supporting service operations and resilience of data platforms.

• Ability to contribute to and foster a high-performing team environment.

• Familiarity with digital project management methodologies.
