St John of God Midland Public Hospital we provide a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, critical care, day chemotherapy, paediatric care, aged and stroke care, maternity and general surgery. Our 307-bed public hospital is operated under a public-private partnership between the State Government and St John of God Health Care.

We provide a wide range of public health care services for people in Midland and surrounding communities. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, public maternity care, Aboriginal pregnancy and maternity support through Moort Boojari Mia, acute mental health treatment and medical and surgical care.

About The Role

We are seeking reliable, detail-oriented and customer-focused Environmental Services Assistants to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control across our hospital facilities, medical clinics, cancer centre and associated tenancy spaces.

This role plays a vital part in supporting patient care by ensuring all areas are cleaned safely, efficiently and in accordance with healthcare cleaning and infection prevention standards.

This Casual position offers flexibility with work hours and days. Availability to work AM and PM shift rosters will be required for all casual staff.

The Position

Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control across hospital, clinic and patient care areas. Clean patient rooms, clinical areas, offices, public spaces and amenities in accordance with established cleaning schedules and procedures. Safely handle waste, replenish supplies and maintain cleanliness of bathrooms and common areas. Operate cleaning equipment and use chemicals safely in accordance with workplace procedures and safety guidelines. Respond promptly to spills and other cleaning requirements to ensure a safe environment. Support compliance with infection prevention, health and safety, and quality standards. Maintain cleaning equipment and report any faults or maintenance issues.

You will have experience in cleaning services, preferably within a healthcare, aged care or hospitality setting, and a strong understanding of hygiene and safety standards. You will be a proactive team member with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to supporting patient safety through high-quality environmental services.
