The Opportunity

We are seeking a self-motivated, critical thinker who has passion to help shape the future of transport across Western Australia.

As part of the Transport Research and Foresight Branch, you will play a key role in researching emerging transport trends, analysing complex issues, and preparing evidence-based advice that informs transport strategy, policy, and planning. Working closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and the community, you will contribute to innovative solutions that support sustainable and integrated transport outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence long-term transport initiatives, work on high-impact projects, and help deliver positive outcomes for communities across Western Australia.

The Ideal Candidate

The panel will be assessing applicants against the following suitability requirements:

1. Significant experience in urban transport planning, analysis, evaluation, strategy and/ or policy development. 
2. Role-models positive, inclusive and adaptive behaviours, supports and encourages peers, and aligns own work to strategic objectives. 
3. Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to consult, collaborate, influence, and negotiate with stakeholders, simplifying complex technical concepts to suit the audience.  
4. Demonstrated innovative and creative thinking, to develop strategic solutions that shape and deliver positive outcomes.  
5. Strong research and analytical skills, including ability to interpret complex data and present actionable insights. 
6. Proven project and program management skills including successful management of timeframes, resources, and risks. 
7. Proven ability to identify gaps and opportunities through environmental scanning and turning these into self-direct work programs.
