Baker / Cake Decorator

About the role:

Cult Cookie Co. is on the lookout for hands-on, creative Bakers and Cake Decorators to join our small but growing team in both permanent full-time and casual roles. You will be an integral part of our production team making not just our incredibly amazing cookies, but also a wide range of premium baked goods in our commercial kitchen located in Coorparoo.

Positions Available Immediately:

• Full time baker and decorator

• Casual / part time baker and decorator

Key Responsibilities:

We’re looking for passionate bakers with an eye for detail, who enjoy being in the kitchen and who are not afraid to jump in and help the team wherever needed. Responsibilities include:

• Day to day production of our range including cookies, brownies, cakes, loaves, slices etc.

• Decorating cakes and cupcakes using buttercream and ganache (smooth finishes, piping, simple designs)

• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and customer orders

• Follow food safety protocols and best practices to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction

• Assist with custom cake orders and special requests, adapting designs to meet customer specifications

• Contribute ideas for new products, flavours and decoration techniques

• Full-time: 40 hours (Monday - Friday, 6am to 2PM)

• Casual: 15 – 25 hours (Monday – Friday) – flexible start and end times

What we're looking for

• Experience as a baker and/or cake decorator, ideally within a commercial or artisan bakery environment

• A level of proficiency in cake decorating, including experience with icing, piping and other decoration methods (fondant work experience not required)

• Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and presentation

• Ability to work efficiently and meet production deadlines

• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative attitude

• Creativity and a passion for innovation in baking and cake design

• Experience with custom orders and working to client specifications is highly desirable

Experience & qualifications:

• Practical cake decorating experience (home baking or professional)

• Experience working in a commercial kitchen or bakery production environment beneficial

• No trade qualification required if practical experience is held

• No formal pastry experience needed
