About the role
The Engineering Technician D is based at the L3Harris Regional Support Centre (RSC) in Pinkenba and is a key member of the Maintenance Team supporting L3Harris Defence Australia programs. The role focuses on leading and supervising maintenance activities, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a large fleet of digital radio equipment to ensure serviceable assets are returned to end users in a timely manner.
Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering and support environment, the position applies RF, digital, and analogue diagnostic expertise using test instrumentation and automated test equipment. The role also contributes to continuous improvement through accurate data capture, failure trend analysis, and collaboration with engineering, logistics, and field service stakeholders, while maintaining strict quality, safety, and security standards.
What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
Perform efficient and effective diagnostics of RF, digital, and analogue circuits using test instrumentation and equipment.
Lead and coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality requirements.
Diagnose faults within digital and analogue assemblies in customer support and production environments.
Accurately document diagnostic findings, corrective actions, and solutions using data collection and workflow management tools.
Assist engineering functions by supporting investigations, analysis, and product improvement activities as required.
Analyse failure trends and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide clear technical feedback and recommendations to management, engineers, and peers on diagnostics, processes, and tools.
Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to maintenance personnel to strengthen team capability and performance.
Maintain required quality standards through adherence to best practices and procedures.
Ensure full compliance with workplace Health and Safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
Provide direct customer and end-user technical support, including on-site diagnostics when required.
Participate in weekly reporting activities and provide maintenance status updates to the management team.
Support workforce planning, task allocation, and resource prioritisation to meet maintenance objectives.
Manage inventory control activities and maintain accurate maintenance and asset records
What you’ll bring

Minimum Certificate III in applicable Technical Trade.
Australian citizen
Security clearance level minimum NV1
