Data and intelligence sit at the heart of every one of them.

This is where you come in.

The Role

As our Data & Intelligence Manager, you will own the data, analytics, knowledge and intelligence capability that powers our strategic flywheel – where impact fuels evidence, evidence fuels influence, and influence fuels investment back into girls.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Technology, Data & AI, you’ll lead a small, high-impact team (currently one Data Analyst) and partner across the entire organisation. You won’t sit in a back office. You’ll sit at the joins of our flywheel – connecting fundraising, programs, finance, impact, people and external affairs through data that is trustworthy, accessible, and ready for both human and AI use.

What you’ll own:

Data Strategy, Governance & Quality

• Lead PIA’s enterprise data governance – standards, stewardship, quality frameworks and classification – ensuring our data is accurate, consistent, secure and ethically managed.
• Champion data quality as an organisational discipline, not just a technical task.

Analytics, Reporting & Insight

• Deliver the analytics, dashboards and insight that underpin supporter acquisition, retention, lifetime value, financial reporting, program evidence and workforce planning.
• Turn data into stories that shift decisions and create momentum.

Data Infrastructure & Warehouse

• Shape and deliver PIA’s data warehouse and integration architecture in partnership with our Lead Systems Manager and CRM product owner.
• Build the pipes that connect our systems so data flows cleanly and reliably.

Knowledge Management

• Own PIA’s knowledge management approach — structuring organisational information so it’s findable, well-maintained and ready for both people and AI.
• Reduce fragmentation; make it easier for staff to find what they need.

AI Integration & Optimisation

• Integrate AI and automation into data and intelligence practice, ensuring our data foundations are AI-ready.
• Identify opportunities to use AI responsibly to improve data quality, analytics, reporting and insight generation.
• Model ethical AI use across the organisation.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor and develop the Data Analyst with genuine investment in their growth.
• Foster a collaborative, curious, service-oriented team culture.
• Support onboarding of contractors and specialists for major data programs.

What You’ll Bring

Experience & Expertise

• Significant experience in data management, analytics, business intelligence or a related field – ideally in a not-for-profit, social impact or mission-driven context.
• Demonstrated experience leading data governance, data quality and reporting frameworks.
• Strong technical capability across data warehousing, analytics platforms, dashboards and data integration.
• Experience with CRM data (e.g. Salesforce) and supporter/fundraising analytics is highly valued.
• Practical understanding of AI and automation as applied to data and analytics – and a commitment to using it responsibly and ethically.
• Experience in knowledge management or information architecture.
• People leadership experience, with a genuine investment in developing others.
