As an Apprenticeship Employment Service, Work & Training are very happy to be able to place a first year apprentice in to our valued clients expanding business. Work & Training will be with you all the way.

Solid work ethic and the ability to learn and take instructions are vital for this opportunity, together with a genuine desire to complete this qualification.

What can you gain from completing an apprenticeship through Work & Training?

• You would be employed by Work & Training - one of the largest employers of Apprentices and Trainees in Tasmania, and hosted for the duration of your apprenticeship, to our client.
• You would be part of a committed team and under guidance of the site supervisor.
• Theory training is conducted on-site by our own Registered Training Organisation.
• Your Work & Training Apprenticeship Consultant provides mentoring and employment support.
• At the completion of your apprenticeship you would receive a nationally recognised Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220) and become a qualified trades-person.

 Learn how to:                                                                                                  

• Assist in Commercial construction of large scale developments.
• Undertake formwork and suspended slabs.
• Safely demolish existing structures, renovate and extend current structures.
• Work safely on busy building sites, alongside of other trade persons.
• Utilise power tools safely and in accordance to WHS policies and procedures.

Desired attributes:

• VET Pre-Vocational Construction qualification.
• Previous work experience.

 Essential attributes:

• Hold a current drivers licence and a reliable vehicle.
• Have a White Card
• Have the ability to pass a pre-employment medical that includes drug and alcohol testing.
• Have a current Working with Vulnerable People Card and National Police Check (or ability to obtain).

What happens next?

• If you are the successful applicant, you will be signed up in to your qualification, and a start date will be arranged.
