Warehouse Assistant (2IC)

About the role

You will be joining a small team, working with the Warehouse Manager and a small team of delivery drivers. You'll support the Warehouse Manager in the daily operation of the branch while helping to coordinate local deliveries. You'll ensure work is completed safely, accurately and efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service and inventory accuracy. In the absence of the Warehouse Manager, you will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the branch.

Key responsibilities

• Complete daily picking, packing, dispatch and receiving activities.

• Ensure customer orders are picked accurately and dispatched on time.

• Maintain warehouse presentation, cleanliness and organisation.

• Assist with inventory management and stock accuracy.

• Complete receipting of incoming goods into the company system.

• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.

• Assist with regular stocktakes and cycle counts.

• Coordinate local delivery schedules and communicate with drivers throughout the day.

• Liaise with transport providers regarding inbound freight.

• Ensure company vehicles are clean, compliant and ready for daily operations.

About you

• Previous experience in warehousing, logistics or distribution.

• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control.

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

• Ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.

• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• Strong customer service focus.

• Intermediate computer skills.

• Current forklift licence.

• Current driver's licence.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check.
