Middle/Upper Primary School Teacher

12-month contract full-time FTE 1.0 position commencing January 2027

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle/Upper Primary School Teacher to join our dynamic teaching team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, delivering innovative lessons, and inspiring students to reach their full potential. 

 Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective lessons that cater to the diverse learning styles of middle/upper primary students.

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.

• Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support for individual learning needs.

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a well-rounded curriculum that aligns with educational standards.

• Establish strong communication channels with parents and guardians to keep them informed about students' academic and personal development.

• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and innovative teaching methodologies.

• Contribute to the school's extracurricular activities and events.

 Requirements: 

• Experience teaching in a primary school setting, preferably within middle and/or upper primary year levels.

• Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and contemporary teaching practices.

• Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver and evaluate engaging learning programs that meet the diverse needs of students.

• Experience using assessment and achievement data to inform teaching practice and support student growth.

• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive, inclusive and productive learning environment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.

• Commitment to student wellbeing and supporting the academic, social, emotional and spiritual development of young people.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional learning team and contribute positively to the broader life of the school.

• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications

• Recognised teaching qualifications enabling registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.

• Current Teacher Registration in South Australia.

• Current Working With Children Check.

• Current RRHAN-EC certification.

• Current First Aid accreditation.

• Timely completion of online WHS, code of conduct and child protection modules as requested.
