Assistant Manager

About the role 

We are seeking experienced and motivated Assistant Farm Managers for our commercial broiler farm in Somerton, NSW. This is a full time on site role reporting to the Poultry Farm Manager.  

Key responsibilities include: 

• Working with the Farm Manager to support the day-to-day management of the farms. 

• Assisting with leading and managing staff to enhance farm performance and cost effectiveness. 

• Support management of maintenance programs for all plant equipment and infrastructure. 

• Contribute to always maintaining a high level of farm presentation. 

• Ensuring biosecurity, health and safety, environmental and animal welfare procedures and standards are always met and adhered to across the farms. 

• This role will be responsible for the Farm Manager’s duties when they are on leave. 

Ideally the successful candidate will have: 

• Previous supervisory/leadership experience in a process driven environment. 

• Previous experience with cattle station is advantageous. 

• Highly developed communication and people management skills. 

• Proactive, organised, and committed to promoting a positive culture. 

• Current driver’s license. 

• Current first aid certificate desirable.

The farm comprises eight sheds and produces approximately 2.3 million birds annually.
