Registered Nurse (Mental Health - Melaleuca Inpatient Unit)

Provide quality nursing services within a health service setting, consulting with the Nurse Unit Manager or team leader in the coordination and standards of care for patients within the unit.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Registered Nurse (Mental Health - Melaleuca Inpatient Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Provide adept clinical practice, and take leadership roles when required
• Readily engage with staff to promote quality projects, and upkeep a ward culture of quality and service improvement
• Utilise clinical skills commensurate to the individual level of experience and specific to the inpatient Specialty
• Liaise with consumers and their families, other health professionals, supervisors, students and researchers as required to ensure quality service delivery

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Be credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
• A postgraduate qualification within a relevant specialty will be highly regarded
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent full time or permanent part time (hours negotiable, up to 76hrs per fortnight)
• Base salary ranging from $87,790 - $112,607 per annum or $44.27 - $56.79 per hour
