Treasury Operations Analyst

Join our Group Treasury team and play a key role in supporting the accurate, timely and well-controlled delivery of treasury operations across Metcash.

About The Opportunity

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Treasury Operations Analyst to join our Finance team in Macquarie Park.

Reporting to the Group Treasurer, you’ll provide operational, administrative and accounting support across treasury transactions, banking activities, cash management, loans and financial reconciliations. You’ll help maintain strong governance and controls while delivering responsive support to our internal teams and external banking partners.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in treasury, finance operations, banking operations, accounts payable or financial markets who is ready to broaden their exposure within a collaborative corporate treasury environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Process and settle treasury transactions, including debt servicing, interest payments, derivative settlements and intercompany fundingMonitor daily cash movements, bank transfers and account balancesSupport daily cash position reportingAssist with opening and closing bank accounts, banking mandates and authorised signatory registersAdminister user access and maintain profiles across banking platforms and Treasury systemsCoordinate the issuance, amendment, reporting and cancellation of bank guaranteesPrepare Treasury-related journals, including interest accruals, foreign exchange entries and intercompany funding transactionsComplete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end and year-end processesMaintain accurate records and reporting for customer and joint venture loansManage enquiries through the Treasury Service Centre mailboxSupport internal and external audit requestsIdentify opportunities to improve Treasury processes, reporting and operational efficiencyProvide broader operational support to the Treasury team, including project and leave coverage

What You’ll Bring

A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Economics or FinanceAt least two years’ experience in corporate treasury, finance operations, accounts payable, banking operations or a financial markets environmentExperience processing financial transactions and completing reconciliations accuratelyWorking knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls and governance requirementsAn understanding of cash management, banking products, loans, deposits, foreign exchange contracts or financial derivativesExperience using banking platforms, ERP systems or financial information processing systemsStrong Microsoft Excel skillsExcellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality workStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlinesConfident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across the business and with external banking partnersA proactive approach to problem-solving, learning and continuous improvementExposure to Treasury Management Systems such as Kyriba, Quantum, FIS, IT2 or similar would be advantageous, but isn’t essential
