The Role

Reporting to the Audit Manager, you will play a key role in reviewing SMSF audits and supporting the development of junior team members. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your technical expertise and leadership skills in a specialised field.

• Review initial audits of SMSF financial statements and compliance in line with internal procedures and standards.

• Identify and clearly document audit queries, completion items, and required evidence.

• Ensure audit documentation is accurate, complete, and of a high standard.

• Report significant audit matters to the Audit Manager.

• Provide on-the-job coaching, feedback, and guidance to junior auditors.

• Undertake initial SMSF audits where required.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit processes and procedures.

• Work collaboratively within a team environment while also managing your own workload.

• Maintain high audit quality and adherence to performance expectations and KPIs.

To be successful in this role you will need

• A degree qualification in accounting or commerce.

• CA or CPA qualification (or currently studying towards).

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in superannuation/SMSF audit.

• Strong SMSF technical knowledge.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• The ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and achieve KPIs.

• Ability to work both independently and within a team.

• Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
