Our Opportunity

Work Location: Cloudbreak - Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

Roster: 7D/7N/14R – FIFO ex Perth

This permanent full time position is within our Process Plant at Cloudbreak. We are looking for an experienced fixed plant electrican who will provide safe, effective and timely electrical maintenance to our equipment and ancillaries to optimise plant operational capacity.

Key Responsibilities

Performing repairs, installations and any work required to set up, align or otherwise prepare for operation, all electronic and instrumentation equipment/systemsPerforming operational checks, monitoring performance and related maintenance to identify and diagnose instrumentation electronic and electrical performance problemsPerforming technical evaluations, fault finding and diagnosing problems and taking timeous corrective actionDecommissioning and disposal of equipment as appropriatePerforming on-the-job coaching as requiredMonitoring trends to make recommendations for inventory controlStatutory testing and inspectionsCarrying out tasks within time, budget and standardPerforming detail design, device programming, configuration and calibration on equipment

Qualifications And Experience

Electrical trade qualificationCurrent WA 'A' class electrical workers licenceHigh voltage switching certificateCertificate IV in instrumentation (desired)Experience as an electrical tradesperson or Electrical / Instrumentation Technician in a continuous operating plant environmentProven experience in PLC systems and control communication systemsProfibus installation and maintenance certification desirableProven experience in the maintenance and trouble shooting of Variable Speed DrivesCompetent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systemsExperience in computer based maintenance systems - SAP/Microsoft Office suit
