Field Service Technician - Electrical and Fire Appliance Testing

Perth Test and Tag Solutions is a growing provider of electrical and fire compliance testing services across Perth and surrounding areas, with expanding opportunities throughout regional Western Australia.

We help businesses maintain safe workplaces through comprehensive testing and inspection of electrical appliances, RCDs, portable fire equipment, emergency systems, and safety equipment.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a mature, dependable and motivated Electrical and Fire Compliance Technician to join our team.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong work ethic and understands the importance of representing a business professionally when working with clients.

We are looking for someone who brings genuine workforce experience, demonstrates long-term commitment to in previous roles, and wants to become a valued member of a growing team.

Previous technician experience is preferred but not essential. We welcome applications from people with the right attitude who are looking to build a career in compliance testing and field-based technical work.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will include:

• Electrical testing and tagging of single and 3-phase appliances in compliance with ASNZS 3760/2022.

• Testing Residual Current Devices (RCDs) to ASNZS 3760/2022 standards.

• Conducting thorough inspections and tests on portable fire equipment and hose reels as per AS 1851.

• Testing and maintenance of exit and emergency lighting systems.

• Testing and inspection of rigging equipment.

• Working across various locations throughout Perth, with occasional regional travel within Western Australia.

Requirements:

Essential:

• Current unrestricted full Australian drivers licence

• Clean current National Police Check

• National construction induction certificate (White Card)

• Reliable vehicle

• Strong communication skills. This role is customer facing, with new clients everyday so this is important!

• Commitment to ongoing learning and development

Preferred but not essential:

• Previous experience in technician or field service based role (Preferred but NOT mandatory) we are seeking both experienced technicians and welcoming people new to the technician type role. 

• Rigging experience & knowledge

• Electrical testing and tagging experience

• Fire compliance experience
