This opportunity is suited to an established consultant who combines strong technical expertise with client leadership, commercial awareness and a passion for developing people. You'll be empowered to lead major multidisciplinary projects, strengthen client relationships, contribute to business growth and help shape the future direction of our Sydney Building Services business.
The Role

Lead large multidisciplinary project teams and contribute to successful project outcomes across complex programs. Manage project scope, programme, quality, risk and commercial performance. Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, contractors and key project stakeholders. Lead design reviews and provide technical governance to ensure quality, compliance and constructability. Mentor, coach and develop engineers across the Mechanical discipline and broader Building Services team. Support the growth of technical capability through knowledge sharing and professional development. Lead proposals, contribute to pursuits and support the securing of future project opportunities. Identify opportunities to deliver innovative, client-focused solutions that create better outcomes and value for clients.
You will contribute across a diverse project portfolio including transport, aviation, defence, mission critical, commercial and major infrastructure projects, providing strong project diversity and long-term career opportunities.
About You
You will bring:
Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering. Extensive experience within a Building Services consulting environment. Demonstrated success delivering major transport, infrastructure or complex multidisciplinary projects. Strong technical expertise across HVAC, ventilation and mechanical building services systems. Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary project teams and manage multiple projects concurrently. Experience managing project scope, programme, risk and commercial outcomes. Strong client relationship and stakeholder management capability. Experience leading proposals, pursuits and generating repeat business opportunities. A passion for mentoring and developing engineers and building high-performing teams. Strong understanding of Australian Standards, NCC and relevant authority requirements. Chartered status, registration or eligibility for chartership will be highly regarded.
What You Can Expect
A pipeline of nationally significant transport and infrastructure projects. Opportunities to lead major multidisciplinary project teams. A hybrid working model with genuine flexibility. A supportive, inclusive and high-performing team culture. Access to industry-leading technical specialists across WSP's national and global network. Clear and achievable career progression toward Associate Director and Technical Director pathways. Strong technical leadership and knowledge sharing across the business. A strong focus on wellbeing, flexibility and long-term careers
