About The Role
This position operates in a complex, dynamic environment as a technical specialist, accountable for developing and reviewing Traffic Guidance Schemes and Traffic Management plans. You will ensure compliant implementation through the means of work site auditing which ensures consistent, efficient and safe operations at our worksites and safety for road users within the community.
You will play a significant role in the safety of council’s workforce, prevention of major delays to the delivery of projects and services to the community, as well as playing an important role in the preparation for the management of disaster events.
About You
In this role, you will require a minimum of two years’ experience in traffic management, TC Level 1 (RIIWHS205D - Traffic Control), TC Level 2 (RIIWHS302D - Traffic Management Implementation), Traffic Management Design or willing to obtain, a current Queensland “C” class driver’s licence (manual), a Construction Industry General Induction and Construction Industry “white” card. It is desirable that you hold a First Aid Certificate.
You will have a strong ability to interpret complex legislation and recommend, design and deliver policy, procedure and learning materials based on legislative interpretation and best practice.
You will require advanced communication and negotiation skills to influence decisions, actions or perceptions of technical specialists, work teams, and broader organisations (contractors and legislative bodies) to gain consistency of practices across Council.
Finally, you will possess high level problem solving and risk management skills to make decisions and quickly resolves issues that may impact on business delivery to maximise work package throughput and continually improve procedures and processes that support this function.
