HR Tuck driver

About the role

Barca Investments is seeking a skilled HR Truck Driver to join our growing transport operations team. This is a full-time position based in Chipping Norton, NSW 2170. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of HR (Heavy Rigid) trucks, ensuring timely delivery of goods whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This position is integral to our logistics operations and directly contributes to the success of our clients and the reputation of Barca Investments.

What you'll be doing

• Operating HR trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods across Sydney-Metro and surrounding regions

• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and performing basic maintenance checks

• Adhering to all traffic laws, road safety regulations and company policies whilst driving

• Loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing of loads

• Maintaining accurate logbooks and documentation in accordance with transport regulations

• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays

• Maintaining a professional appearance and attitude when interacting with clients and the public

• Contributing to a safe working environment by identifying and reporting hazards or vehicle defects

• Ensuring vehicles are kept clean and well-maintained throughout the working day

What we're looking for

• Valid HR (Heavy Rigid) driver's licence with a clean driving record

• Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one

• Minimum 2 years' experience driving HR trucks in a commercial transport environment

• Sound knowledge of road safety legislation and transport regulations

• Excellent vehicle handling skills and spatial awareness

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual handling tasks

• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

• Preferably, experience with ticketing systems and GPS navigation technology
