About the JobWe are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Associate or Senior Associate to join the Group’s Trustee and Responsible Entity Solutions team.We are intentionally open to appointing at either Associate or Senior Associate level. The final level will reflect the successful candidate’s experience, technical capability, judgement and ability to manage workstreams independently.The key for us is finding the right person with the right attitude. You may be an Associate ready to accelerate your development or a Senior Associate looking to take greater ownership of complex mandates and stakeholder relationships.Based primarily in our Melbourne CBD office, the role offers broad exposure across fund establishment, transaction execution, trustee oversight, governance and ongoing fund operations within a growing financial services group.
About the BusinessThe SILC Group is a specialised financial solutions group headquartered in Melbourne CBD. We provide bespoke solutions to wholesale private, commercial and institutional clients across a range of asset classes and sectors, with a strong focus on alternatives.The Group operates across three core divisions: portfolio solutions, capital solutions and digital solutions.What you will doYou will work closely with the Head of Trustee and RE Solutions and broader SILC team to support the delivery of trustee and responsible entity services.
Key duties and areas of responsibility include:Support and, where appropriate, lead responses to client requests and day-to-day queries.Coordinate with investment managers, legal advisers, administrators and other service providers to deliver timely operational outcomes.Assist with fund establishment, onboarding and implementation workstreams.Support the preparation and review of fund documents, including trust deeds, information memoranda and operational workflows.Monitor establishment milestones and proactively follow up outstanding deliverables.Process Proper Instructions and related trustee activities in accordance with SILC policies and procedures.Review transaction documentation and support settlement execution.Maintain accurate records of trustee decisions, instructions and operational activities.Assist with monitoring funds against governing documents, client mandates, regulatory requirements and SILC policies.Support compliance reviews, incident registers, reporting obligations, audit requests and governance records.Identify operational, governance or compliance issues and escalate them promptly with appropriate context.Contribute to the development and improvement of processes, controls, checklists, templates and operating procedures.Work collaboratively with Trustee Solutions, Fund Administration, Risk & Compliance, Legal and Accounting teams.Contribute positively to a professional, accountable and compliance-aware team culture.
At Senior Associate level, you will also be expected to:Take greater ownership of assigned mandates and workstreams.Manage more complex trustee, transaction and stakeholder matters.Act as a key relationship contact for assigned clients and external stakeholders.Apply sound judgement, recommend next steps and escalate material risks early.Support the training and development of Associates and junior team members.Help lift operating standards and drive process and control improvements.
What we are looking forExperience in financial services, funds management, trustee services, responsible entity operations, custody, investor relations, trust administration or fund administration.An understanding of trustee, responsible entity, managed investment scheme and fund administration concepts, or a demonstrated ability to develop this capability quickly.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate documentation and disciplined record keeping.A proactive, accountable and solutions-focused approach.Sound judgement and the confidence to escalate issues early with relevant context.Strong written and verbal communication skills.The ability to manage competing priorities within a regulated and compliance-focused environment.High integrity and a commitment to professional client service.A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute beyond assigned tasks.Exposure to alternative assets, including private credit, property, private equity or venture capital, will be viewed favourably.
For appointment at Senior Associate level, we expect demonstrated experience managing workstreams independently, reviewing transaction documentation, coordinating stakeholders and supporting junior team members.

Preferred QualificationsRelevant tertiary qualifications in law, commerce, accounting, finance or a related discipline.Experience within an AFSL-regulated financial services environment.Experience with managed investment schemes, trustee operations or responsible entity services.Familiarity with fiduciary governance, risk management and regulatory compliance frameworks.
