Disability Support Worker (Casual)
Immediate Start

We're looking for a caring, reliable and motivated Disability Support Worker who shares our values and wants to make a genuine difference in people's lives.
About the role
Every day is a little different, but your work may include:
Supporting participants in their home and community
Helping people work towards their individual goals
Building positive, trusting relationships
Providing emotional support and encouragement
Assisting with shopping, appointments and community activities
Meal preparation and light household tasks
Personal care (where required)
Supporting independence through capacity building and skill development
Completing clear progress notes and reporting concerns or changes
Supports are primarily provided in Port Macquarie and include a variety of weekday, evening, weekend and Sleepover shifts.
About You
We're looking for someone who shares our values and brings the following qualities:

Uses good judgement and knows when to seek guidance
Is comfortable working independently while following support plans and organisational procedures
Can communicate clearly with participants, families and our office
Understands the importance of accurate documentation and reporting
Is committed to safeguarding the rights, dignity and choice of people with disability
Has reasonable availability across the week and can offer some flexibility to meet the needs of the role
Essential requirements
Right to work in Australia
Current Australian Driver Licence
Access to a reliable, suitable and comprehensively insured vehicle
Current First Aid (HLTAID011 or equivalent)
Current CPR certificate
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or proof of application prior to commencement)
National Police Check (not required if you already hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Check)
Working with Children Check (only required if supporting children)
Smartphone with internet access for work-related systems
Desirable
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability), Community Services or similar
Experience supporting the elderly or people with a disability
Experience working independently in a community-based support role
Lived Experience is considered
