Senior Project Manager / Construction Manager

The Opportunity

Jarl Modern Construction is a growing modular construction company delivering complex residential, commercial and multi-storey projects across Australia.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager / Construction Manager to take ownership of project delivery from commencement through to completion.

This is not a role for someone who simply manages the day-to-day running of a site. We are looking for a senior construction professional who can take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects, including programme, cost, quality, subcontractors, consultants, client relationships, WHS and contractual obligations.

You will be the person who knows what is happening across the project, identifies issues early and takes action to keep the project moving.

What you'll be responsible for

• Taking overall responsibility for project delivery from mobilisation through to practical completion and handover

• Managing project programmes, milestones, resources and critical paths

• Leading and coordinating site teams, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers

• Managing construction sequencing, productivity and site operations

• Monitoring project costs, budgets, variations, procurement and financial performance

• Managing subcontractor performance and resolving issues quickly and effectively

• Working closely with the client, consultants, authorities and other key stakeholders

• Managing design coordination and ensuring construction information is available when required

• Identifying project risks and implementing practical solutions before they impact programme, cost or quality

• Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts and quality requirements

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident taking ownership of a project and making decisions.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience as a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Construction Manager or similar senior construction role

• Demonstrated experience delivering complex construction projects

• Experience managing substantial project values and multidisciplinary teams

• Strong commercial and contractual understanding

• Proven experience managing subcontractors and consultants

• Strong programme and cost management skills

• Excellent understanding of construction methodology and sequencing

• Strong knowledge of Australian construction practices, WHS and quality requirements

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability

• The confidence to have difficult conversations when required

• Excellent organisational and documentation skills

• A practical, solutions-focused approach

• The ability to work autonomously while keeping senior management properly informed

Experience with modular, prefabricated, multi-storey or off-site construction will be highly regarded.

Relevant construction qualifications and QBCC licensing requirements will also be considered favourably.
