We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the culinary direction of Lady Banks Rooftop and continue elevating the venue's food offering.

About the Role

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the kitchen operation, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food, an exceptional guest experience, and a positive team culture.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and commercially minded culinary leader who enjoys balancing innovation, quality and operational excellence. Working closely with venue leadership, you'll drive menu development, lead and mentor the kitchen team, and ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing kitchen team.

• Oversee all day-to-day kitchen operations and service delivery.

• Drive menu development and seasonal menu innovation aligned with the Lady Banks brand.

• Ensure exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation standards.

• Manage food costs, labour costs and kitchen budgets.

• Oversee ordering, stock control and supplier relationships.

• Recruit, train, coach and develop kitchen team members.

• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP and WHS requirements.

• Create efficient kitchen systems and processes to support service excellence.

• Work collaboratively with the Venue Manager and wider hospitality leadership team to enhance the overall guest experience.

• Support the successful delivery of events, activations and peak trading periods.

• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.

About You

You are an experienced culinary leader who is passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a strong eye for detail, and are committed to developing both people and menus.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Previous experience as a Head Chef, Executive Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a premium restaurant, bar or hospitality venue.

• Demonstrated experience leading and developing kitchen teams.

• Strong knowledge of contemporary food trends and menu development.

• Commercial acumen with experience managing food costs, labour and kitchen performance.

• Excellent organisational and leadership skills.

• Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety and WHS requirements.

• Ability to remain calm and lead effectively during busy service periods.

• Relevant culinary qualifications.

• Flexibility to work across evenings, weekends and peak trading periods.

• A passion for hospitality, creativity and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
