About the role

Linden Cook is seeking a Senior Jewellery Designer with advanced capability across original jewellery design, concept development, sculptural design, prototyping and design for manufacture.

The role is responsible for developing original jewellery concepts and carrying them through the complete design and development process, from initial creative direction and sketching through three-dimensional development, prototyping and final production approval.

A particularly important capability within the role is the ability to design and create highly detailed miniature and sculptural forms in wax, enabling complex concepts to be developed physically at jewellery scale while retaining fine detail, proportion and character.

Key responsibilities

• Developing original jewellery concepts and refining them into resolved designs
• Producing sketches, specifications, models and prototypes
• Defining form, proportion, scale, materials, construction and surface detail
• Designing both conventional jewellery forms and highly detailed sculptural and miniature pieces
• Translating concepts into three-dimensional forms, including hand modelling and carving in jewellery wax
• Developing and refining prototypes while assessing technical and manufacturing feasibility
• Designing with an understanding of casting, assembly and finishing requirements
• Collaborating with manufacturing to resolve design and production challenges
• Managing designs from initial concept through to final production approval

About you

• Strong creative design ability combined with practical manufacturing knowledge
• Advanced skill in wax modelling, carving and miniature sculptural development
• Ability to maintain accurate proportion, form and visual balance at very small scale
• Understanding of casting, finishing and production requirements
• Ability to move confidently between original design, sculptural and wax development, prototyping and production
• Portfolio demonstrating original jewellery design, including examples of detailed sculptural and/or hand-developed wax work
