Metal Fabrication & Finishing Assistant

We are a long established Australian lighting manufacturer with over 50 years of industry experience and a strong presence in the Australian market.

We design and manufacture high-quality lighting products in-house, combining craftsmanship, solid engineering, and practical problem-solving. We're looking for a hands-on, practical team member to join our manufacturing team, with a strong focus on metal preparation, fabrication and finishing.

A significant part of the role involves working with raw copper and brass, including linishing, surface preparation, ageing and powder-coating to create the distinctive finishes our lighting products are known for.

There may be times you will also be involved in assembly, general production and workshop support, so this is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in quality workmanship and wants to develop specialised manufacturing skills.

Experience in metal fabrication, polishing, linishing, powder coating or workshop finishing would be highly regarded, but we're also open to someone with the right attitude and practical aptitude who is keen to learn.

· Prepare and finish raw metal components through linishing, polishing and other surface preparation techniques

· Carry out metal finishing and ageing processes to achieve TOVO's required finishes and consistent quality standards

· Undertake powder-coating including preparation and handling of components

· Inspect finished metalwork for consistency, quality and presentation, identifying and addressing imperfections where required

· Assist with fabrication and preparation of metal components for lighting products

· Assemble lighting products and components accurately and to specification

· Use a range of hand and workshop tools safely and confidently

· Prepare components and materials for production jobs, including picking and organising parts

· Keep the workshop, tools, equipment and work areas clean, organised and safe

· Work closely with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain a consistent flow of work

· Learn TOVO's specialist manufacturing, finishing and assembly techniques and develop your skills over time

· Jump in and support the wider production team wherever needed

Essential
