What you’ll be doing in this role 
We are currently recruiting for Emergency Registrar Advanced Trainees priority in EC, with rotations offered in ICU and Anaesthetics, for 3 months in the later part of up to a two-year contract. That is a total of 12 months accredited Emergency training available (ACEM trainee).

This position at the Sydney Adventist Hospital provides an exciting opportunity to work in a busy private department with first-class facilities and a great team of medical, nursing and allied health staff.

Trainees will have the opportunity to pick between the following options post first year in Emergency Care (EC), to make the second year complete:

• 0.5-1.0 FTE in the emergency department if other terms are not sought.
• Three-to-six months rotational terms in, ICU and Anaesthetics term.

The emergency department at the SAN offers:

• 28-day roster with no nights.
• TS4 level accredited opportunities– with specific focus on leadership and management training and opportunities to contribute to the department with protocol development, M&M presentations, and teaching opportunities.
• Enthusiastic FACEMS with rostered education days.
• Tailored teaching program supervised by experienced DEMTs.
• Department subsidised trainee yearly subscription to Up to Date,
• Seven paid days of study leave in one FTE year (Relative to training).

Who we are looking for:

Essential requirements:

• Current ACEM trainees post primary examination (TS2, TS3 or TS4)
• Must hold current AHPRA registration.
• Must have Australian Work Rights, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role

Desirable requirements:

• Demonstrated commitment to training in emergency medicine.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work independently within a supervised clinical environment using excellent clinical skills, judgement, and expertise.
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Great interpersonal skills with compassionate and professional communication with patients, their family, and your colleagues.
• Demonstrated systematic approach to department management with ability to prioritise tasks, take initiative and problem solve to safely manage critically unwell patients.
• To be adaptable to a team-oriented and fast-paced work environment.  
• Be willing to undertake relevant ongoing professional development.
