About the role
The Role
The Directorate of Digital Service Delivery (DDSD) is seeking a motivated and innovative APS 6 ICT Technical Architect to play a key role in shaping and enhancing Defence’s digital service delivery platforms, including ServiceConnect, the DCAC Portal and the Web Forms Portal. These platforms are critical enablers of simplified, integrated and user-centered services for the Defence Community.
Working within a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will lead the development of solution designs, technical analysis and architectural artefacts that align business requirements with Defence's strategic and operational objectives.
Reporting to the EL1 Lead Architecture, you will work closely with business owners, technical specialists, delivery teams and industry partners to analyse complex requirements, develop solution options and deliver practical, scalable and compliant outcomes.
You will enjoy working across strategy, research, delivery and sustainment activities, building strong stakeholder relationships and applying your problem-solving skills to influence decisions and drive continuous improvement. The Directorate works closely with customers, technical teams and industry partners to ensure digital services are accessible, responsive and aligned with business needs. Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced ICT Technical Architect with a proven ability to design, develop and deliver complex technology solutions that align with business objectives and Defence requirements. They possess strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills, enabling them to translate business needs into scalable, secure and sustainable architectures.
The candidate demonstrates sound knowledge of Azure cloud and its services, good understanding of PEGA platform and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) technology environments. They have a strong expertise in system integration architecture, including Representational State Transfer (REST)/ Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) Application Programming Interfaces (API)’s, industry standard integration patterns, protocols, and best practices.
Deep understanding of cloud architecture, API security, Authentication/Authorization mechanism, governance and risk management, supported by the Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) certification. The successful applicant is able to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders, provide strategic advice, and contribute to project planning and delivery.
EligibilitySecurity Clearance:
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1.
