About the role
Join SSI and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds and culturally and linguistically diverse communities. As a Mental Health Social Worker, you will play an important role in supporting participants with complex needs through compassionate, person-centred care, advocacy and therapeutic intervention within a multidisciplinary environment.
Joining our Case Assessment Clinical Team (CACT) in Melbourne, you will be part of a specialist multidisciplinary team supporting SRSS participants with complex needs, including individuals transitioning from custody as well as those already living in the community.
This Mental Health Social Worker role focuses on delivering high-quality mental health social work support to participants with complex needs. You will conduct psychosocial assessments, contribute to treatment planning, provide therapeutic and practical support, and advocate for participants to access the services they need. Working closely with internal teams and external providers, you will help participants navigate challenges, build independence and progress toward their goals.
You are a compassionate, resilient and culturally responsive social work professional who is confident supporting people with complex mental health and psychosocial needs. You build trusted helping relationships, communicate effectively with diverse communities, and enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment.
