Hastings Deering is seeking a skilled and safety-focused High Voltage Electrician to join our team in Cairns QLD. This is an exciting opportunity to work with industry-leading equipment and cutting-edge technology while building a rewarding career with one of Australia's largest and most respected heavy equipment providers. In this permanent role, you'll enjoy a 9-day fortnight, offering a great balance between work and lifestyle.

What you'll be doing
As a High Voltage Electrician at Hastings Deering, you will:

• Maintain and repair high-voltage systems - perform inspections, testing, fault finding, maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment operates safely, reliably and efficiently.
• Diagnose issues effectively - identify and troubleshoot electrical and electronic faults accurately to minimise downtime and restore equipment performance.
• Prevent problems before they occur - carry out preventative and scheduled maintenance activities to maximise equipment availability and reliability.
• Deliver quality workmanship - complete repairs and component overhauls in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
• Interpret technical information - read and apply electrical schematics, technical drawings and service manuals to complete work safely and correctly.
• Work safely and compliantly - ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards, site requirements and safe work practices.
• Keep accurate records - complete service reports, maintenance records and supporting documentation accurately and on time.
• Work collaboratively - partner with internal teams and customers to deliver exceptional service outcomes and effective technical solutions.
• Champion safety and environmental responsibility - maintain a strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental standards in every task performed.

What you'll need:

A successful teammate will have experience in:

• Bring the right qualifications - hold a current Electrical Licence and relevant High Voltage Switching qualifications and/or experience.
• Apply your industry experience - utilise your background working on heavy mobile equipment, mining equipment, or industrial electrical systems to deliver reliable outcomes.
• Solve problems efficiently - demonstrate strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
• Work independently and collaboratively - manage your own workload while contributing positively as part of a high-performing team.
• Prioritise safety and quality - maintain a strong commitment to safe work practices and high-quality workmanship in every task.
